Landscape 1995-1998

During this period the focus of my work shifted from still-life to landscape. Initially objects were pictured in relation to ever-expanding spaces, until the space of the landscape and the forms of nature began to fill the pictorial field. Along with the change of subject came a change in materials and working methods: from painting to drawing. Texts also began to re-appear in my work – something that hadn’t been evident in the still-life paintings. I’ve chosen the following selection of examples to show how this change of focus and method happened.

A few of the works from this time have a more abstract geometrical structure underlying the composition of organic forms.
